yes, its possible, I would try your peronsal bank first they are usually more leniant, since you have an account with them.

But also remember, don't use more credit than you can handle paying off fast if your dh lost his job, I personally wouldnt even apply.

I'll agree with Periwinkle about being careful with credit. I'm a SAHM and have a couple of credit cards. All I do is list my husband's income and that I don't work. I have never been turned down and they are in my name, not his.

Oh gosh yes! As long as you have good credit you shouldn't have any trouble. I was just approved for $20K at a furniture store. Oh, what to buy!

I have two credit cards of my own- but they are not from a local bank...I use Disney Visa credit card and Delta American Express. I applied for them myself and had no problem! Our absolute rule in this family is "PAY THE ENTIRE BILL" We pay all cards off 100% each time we get the bill. We have never paid interest! I ONLY use credit card for EVERYTHING (except where it's not accepted) It helps us a TON, because we know where all of our money is going, it's categorized on the bill (we know what we spend each month on gas, groceries, clothing and so forth) My mom goes crazy every time I pull out my credit card, she was raised using cash or check and credit card was only for big purchases...for us it helps!! I will even use it on a purchase of $2.00- just because that way I know exactly what I'm spending, not an estimate.

My credit is actually better than dh's so are cc are in my name and he is a rider. I had a cc history and student loan history. The house is also in my maiden name (along with dh name) so I have that a colatoroll(sp?).

I have a CC. I got it 4 years ago through Target. It is a Target Visa so when I get 1,000 points they sent me a certificate to save 10% at their store. I finally got one for my husband last year. Luckily when we use it, we pay off what we charge that month. And sometimes it can add up fast, so that's scarey.
I got the CC in my name because if anything happens to my husband I have to have credit established somewhere

My first one was through household bank. They sent me an offer and I got it with dh's salary, or our family $$. It was small--$500.
