DH and I *finally* got out $1000 emergency fund! It is so exciting. But I want to move this to a different bank so I don't see it when I check my statements - so I will kind of forget the money is there until we *really* need it.

Does anyone else do this?
Does anyone use an online bank? I have been looking to ING Direct since they have some pretty good rates, but have you had a good experience with them?

I have an ING savings on line-- it has good interest rates and isn't somewhere you can just go get out the same day --it takes 2-3 days for you to draw the money out, not sure the interest I think its 5. something right now.

We have ING and we love it. It does take a few days to transfer money between accounts, but it is just Savings for us, so no big deal.

The interest rate we have is better than the rates for any of our CDs and the money is liquid... very nice.

We have an ING account and I love it. The savings rate just keeps going up too, another nice thing about it. It's convenient to transfer money into and out of, but not too convenient that you'd do it on a whim. Now I just need to concentrate on adding more money to it!

I belong to a state employees federal credit union. The closest bank is about 2 hours away so all my banking is done online and via ATM machines. I love it, the service can't be beat and I get no charges - ATM fees are refunded monthly, if something is overdrawn they pay the item for you and charge just one fee. Interest rates are higher and checking is free - no minimum balance.

best part - deposits are credited immediately it doesn't matter if you use an ATM (any) or enter the deposit online and mail the check.

We do and I love it too! Just follow their steps to get an account. It's easy and it's free and their interest is great.

We also have ING and Love it!! If you want a referral, I can send one to your email address. When you open an account, you get $25 and we get $10! I think ING Is GREAT!
