I started Freecycling about a year ago. It's awesome. Today I had just the best day: two ladies in my area were having a garage sale and they posted that between 3-5 p.m. everything that was left was free! I got 5 pairs of jeans for myself, a Backyardigans DVD for DS, assorted themed pencils (unsharpened) for DS's school and BD party treat bags, a picnic hamper with accessories, an insulated picnic bag (with 4 tv-dinner-type trays, a large drink dispenser and covered chip and dip tray), assorted gift bags, a large bottle of purple glitter glue (sticker said $3.99 Hobby Lobby), a crocheted purse, and 2 phonics games for DS. I think that's it. According to the garage sale stickers on the stuff, it would have cost me about $25.00.

I love to post offers on Freecycle and have people pick the stuff up from my stoop! Gets rid of clutter fast.

I just got on my local one here, it is really nice. A man in the next town was looking for a specific cd to get his kids pc back up an running, I had one & met him at the post office the next day to give it to him. He said 2 other people had told him they would give him one & neither did. He drove an old beat up car & didn't appear to have much, so it felt good to be able to help, I think it meant a lot to him.

I use freecycle in my area- I actually went to pick up a little tykes cottage and a coupe for my daycare. Awesome feelings! Check it out. It's on yahoo groups or just google freecycle for your town/ county. It fun!

I love Freecycle. I hadn't used our website before this spring..but once I did (after my garage sale) it was great! I was amazed at how many people wanted the things that I had listed. I thought they would've just been ignored.

This area has too many need/wants (and not just general like dishes, but NAME BRAND wants) so I got disgusted with it and gave up...maybe I should check back, but anyway I just goodwill my stuff, or we have a Veterans Donation that collects every few months and I always try to have at least 1 bag of items for them.

I used to Freecycle, and really loved it. Part of me still misses being able to get rid of things on a whim, but after an experience I had with a moderator on a power trip, I absolutely refuse to go back. I didn't know there were actually people like this in real-life. It seemed very hall-monitor from a teen movie to me. But outside of that, it was great. I only took a couple of things off of people's hands, but I got rid of countless items.

I have that problem here too. There are certain people that get really particular with their "needs" and it gets annoying. I realize that it is wonderful to get free things and I have no problem with you asking for things before buying them, but it is very annoying to see 10 posts a day from the same people wanting things- couches of a certain color, clothing of particular brands, computer, printer, vehicle, places to live, etc

But, I haven't given up- I generally delete the annoying posters without even reading and try to give to the others. I have gotten some great things and hopefully the things I've given were helpful.

I love being able to recycle and, especially with big items, I don't have to find a way to get them to Goodwill.
