Suppose you have $100,000 that came your way (inheritance, lottery, whatever). What would you do with the money?

I would pay tithing to my church. And then put money in some college accts for my kids. Pay off some on our house, and save the rest for a rainy day. Because you never know what is going to happen

My first reaction is to say we'd save it to build our dream home one day. However, I'm sure we'd go out and spend a little too! It would be tempting to upgrade my 6-year-old minivan to something a little newer, and also splurge on some other things we've only been dreaming about too (that iPhone sure looks tempting -- and dh has ALWAYS wanted a four-wheeler). So, to be honest, we'd probably spend about 20,000 of it and save the rest.

After tithe, I would pay off the house. As this is our only debt, I would then want a nice vacation $5K and then put away the rest. Or the rest would probably go towards the tax on the $100K!

I don't go to church, so mine would go to pay EVERYTHING off, and since there would be a good chunk left over, I'd invest it in my IRA and save a little on the side, for FUN stuff (trips, things, who knows). Man, I would love a $100,000 right now, that would be NICE.

I would pay off all our bills. I would want to take a real vacation, one that you go out of state for. Not a huge one. I would than set aside a certain amount for the kids for college. Than I would want to buy some land and build a house.

Oh, I wish this really would happen!

I would pay off our debt and invest the rest. Some of it could pay for any fertility treatments and/or adoption fees in a couple years.

It is fun to dream!

I would pay off our home loan ($21,000), my student loan ($6,500), and my husband's car loan ($13,000).

Then I would max out my Roth IRA for the year and put the rest in our Money Market fund.
