Definitely, but like it was already mentioned, it becomes a part of you after a while. My mother always pinched pennies and watched every one and knew where it went, and well, honestly, I thought it was silly to do it any other way. He works so hard for the money he brings home and to have it thrown away on things that with a bit of effort on my part could be done better, it just seems both silly, and even a little mean. I try to remember what it'd be like if it were me and that I'd want my money to go as FAR as possible, and I suck it up and stick to it. There are times when we give in to unfrugality (is that even a word) but even DH gets buyer's remorse now. It helps to have a DH that is very supportive of being wise with your money; if you constantly have someone fighting what you're trying to do by blowing money, asking for things, etc, then it's a constant drain on you thinking you're rowing a boat up stream in a storm, alone, trying to get water out of your boat when the other one in the boat is dumping it in. DH is fully supportive and he even knocks some sense into me when I just want to say "screw it". LOL My true kick in the pants? When I go to the store with my MIL and she spends 4x the amount of money than I do on the same amount of stuff -- just because it says Dole instead of Valu on it.
