Do you ever get tired of looking at prices, thinking about costs, and managing money?? I get so tired having to go through the grocery store and think about everything I buy.
I LOVE the game of clearance, coupons and sales...but gosh ~ sometimes I just get worn out.
I do especially when things are very tight and you need to purchase several items. It's not fun to have to keep track of every $ and maybe to have to put something back so you don't go over.
I agree that it can be exhausting and alot of work but I feel that it's well worth it! It's much easier to do without children in tow. I get that break about once a month for a couple hours.
YES!
That's usually when I have a small relapse and spend a bit too much, because I feel sorry for myself. Then I take a look at my debt spread sheet and it keeps me focused on the end goal! I can't wait until it's all gone so I can lighten up on myself a bit.
I do, but at the same time, it's become a big part of who I am. Like putting my seatbelt on, it just happens without thinking about it, because I know that if I put it on, it's better for me. Looking at prices and getting the best deal is better for me too, so it just kind of happens.

Nope, I do that for a living. I don't think my bosses or shareholders would appreciate if I stopped
On another hand, my DH thinks that I am running a corporation when it comes to our family monies since I keep using phrases like "cost-benefit" and "cost effective" and "our budgets and projections". So, if you would ask him that same question, I am sure he'll give you a big YES!!!
I know how you feel. When Sydney was a baby and I had to watch EVERY penny and clip every coupon just so we could make ends meet, I started feeling like saving money wasn't so much fun anymore and starting getting resentful.
I think the best advice I can give is try to focus on what you have, not what you don't have. If it makes you feel bad seeing what you can't afford, stay out of the stores altogether. If you don't like clipping coupons, buy generic and cook from scratch. Get your bills on automatic payment so you don't have to feel bad about writing checks out, etc. Little things like that can help you feel like saving money isn't such drudgery.

I don't think I have... I get such a rush out of finding a bargain or saving money. I do get really stressed when I have to pay more than I want for something or spend money on something that I would have rather spent on something else.
I like Kim's comment about focusing on what you have instead of what you don't.
I have been frustrated before but since these tasks are what is keeping me home with my son, I try to look at it as part of my job. Even when money is plentiful, I still find myself wanting to spend less and save more money. I guess after a while it just becomes part of who you are.
