I agree if it isn't on the need list. More Yarn, dinner out, a new book.

Wow, do I LOVE this website!!! I realize how many women are in the same boat as me! This just sort of cracks me up b/c it makes me think of my "old life." I used to get my nails done, go shopping etc. That was before my son and my priorities shifted a bit. Anyway, what used to be no biggie (a pedicure for example, how I would love one now!) is a luxury now. We did just take a really fabulous trip to the mountains for our anniversary, though, so I can't complain one bit!

Otherwise, definitly anything not on the basics budget is a luxury. Eating out at Mexican would be great!

a luxury for us is something outside the norm of what we spend week to week. Holidays, a massage, but even as a luxury it has to be something i really want. not just a new car because we can, if that makes sense.

I suppose there are different levels of luxury items for me.

A new box of Rembrandt pastels

Ipod

Diamonds

Dinners at a big restaurant, these days, sigh, the good ol' days- long gone.

Family trips to Disney or a theme park.

Yes, Pedicure too.

Anything I do put on my need list is a luxury but I agree there are different levels of luxury.

A haircut is a need, highlights are a luxury for me

Luxury vs convenience. I have tried to cut back on convenience items as much as possible.

Anything new is luxury. We buy all our big ticket items used. I shop ebay, craigslist, consignment shop, etc.
