We're debt free except the house! After the "gazelle-like intensity" this required (for years!) we felt we deserved a break and definitely needed some breathing room. Well, we very nearly ended up back in debt! So the focus is back so we can complete Baby Step #3--fully funded Emergency Fund. Every purchase is questioned, and most often we decide it was more of a want than a need and forget it.

that's AWESOME! Sometimes it just clicks, doesn't it? I have gone through spurts like that too. It's great when you realize that life can be rewarding and enjoyable without spending money. Go, Crazykelly! :happy dance:

I'm 100% on about getting rid of my debt. If I stick to my plan, I will be 100% debt free December 2007. No car payment or cc. Plus that's budgeting 300 a month into a MOney market account.

It makes me sick to think how much money I've wasted over the years. what I could have now instead. But I honestly feel so much better when I have cash in had and I have the cash ready to buy what I need. I don't seem to think about spending so much when I have cash in hand. I am in the middle of using up everything I have in house just to stretch what I have so save me some money. but I feel good seeing the light.

I'm not buying quantity instead quality. Howver, I'm not buying myself any clothes for a year. I'n doing a big time diet to get back to my pre pregnancy weight and not wasting money on any more clothes. it gives me something to look forward to in 1 year. It's like knowing a new person is evolving, both physically and mentally.

Yes -- I am in Gazelle intensity mode, and my friends think I am weird! Guess what? I will be debt-free (including the house) in 3 years! I can take weird!

I feel that we have 'wasted' a lot of money this year. Everything costs so much anymore! We are doing better now. I don't shop for fun and haven't for years. I am decluttering my house. Including the basement.:happy dance: Yesterday dh and I went grocery shopping. We bought what we needed. Same for Walmart. When the kids and I were in Alco last week, we did buy some clothes but they were needed clothes and shoes on clearence.

How is everyone handling Christmas? We do have a married son. They will get a quilt I am making and some groceries. We haven't decided on our other two highschool kids. I am excited about Christmas for a different reason. My widowed father has a lady friend with a large family. I don't know how this will be handled but it will be fun I bet! I am planning on a pre holiday get together at our house next month.

Yes Yes Yes!!!

I am all about saving every penny to help pay off debt! I am in the very beginning phases of it. Last night we just sat down and figured out our debt to income ratio...YIKES! We would have so much $$$ saved if only we didn't have CC debt! I as well am ashamed of the purchases we made. But taht was a time when we were impulsive buyers. We are training ourselves to be thrifty and frugal. I now have a clear vision of where I want to go, which, before my first child, i didn't think twice about.

Since I have found mommysavers, and have observed other families that I am close with, I have a clear vision of what I want and I will do just about anything to get there (except sell my minivan!)

We are meeting with a Financial Planner next friday. She has given us a packet to fill out which will cover all of our expenses, debt, assets, etc. Im hoping with this we can map out a clear path financially. I have been weeding the 'crap' out of my house and having a yard sale this saturday. We are gonna cut our dish satelite and go with basic cable. I think for me...staying in my house would be a good tactic too!!!
