My parents had a Nissan Stanza like a 1987 one that had well over 200K miles and it ran perfectly for them w/mostly routine oil changes!
I have a 96 GMC Yukon with 220k on it right now and have had it a year, we bought it for only $2500 so we had no car payment and we only put some brakes on it and tuned it up and it's been great! I love my yukon, well except for the gas that goes in it! lol

We have a 1998 Toyota Camry and I LOVE it!! It has 312K on it and is still going strong! We hardly ever have to put money into it. We just change the oil every 5000K and that seem to keep it working great. They are known to get 500K without any trouble. It is a very smooth running car too. When we have to replace this one...I would definitely buy another Toyota.

I'm showing this to my hubby. We're trying to get our suv paid off this year (we have 2 years left on loan), and I know how he is he'll try to get me to trade it. I say NO Way especially after reading that article. My car has a little over 50,000 miles on it and it's a 2003, I barely drive it. My dh has a "company" car so we only have one car/insurance payment now but it's killing us!! He's the spender in the family and if I can get him to change his view about changing cars all the time we'll be much happier!!

We just sold my 1995 Geo metro last year. I don't remember how many miles I had on it, but I did drive cross country three times in it, and used to commute 2 hrs each way. The only thing I ever had to replace on it were tires, brakes once, and a transmission. I think I paid $5000 for it in 1995, and sold it for $1000.

Now I have a 2003 Saturn I totally love.

My husband's car is a 1985 Toyota pickup, he works construction so it definitely takes a beating, but still hangs in there

Hey my car made the list. I LOVE my car, and I have 43000 on it and it's a 2004 but I'm not worried at all. I have a Toyota Highlander and I LOVE it. Size, driving, everything. I'm planning to have mine paid off in Decemeber 2.5 years early. That's part of the reason I wanted a Toyota because they are built to last. Looks like a made a good decision!!!
