How did you find your mortgage company and are you happy with them? (I put in an other category, because I have discovered you sometimes need that while you don't realize you will need it.)

I do not like your mortgage company (Countrywide). We tried to refinance with them 5 years ago to get a lower rate, they didn't want to work with us so we went with another mortgage company but less than 2 months later Countrywide had bought our new mortgage so we are back with them now. If they would have refinaced and lowered our interest it would have saved us a lot of paperwork and time.

We have Wells Fargo. We always have been with Wells Fargo. It isn't like I haven't tried going with a different mortgage company. I have. It is just that our loan always gets sold to Wells Fargo.

Every few years they try to switch us over to a coupon book. I hassle with them for a few months then they go back to putting us on a monthly statement. I want a monthly statement because I tend to pay extra toward the principal and I want to see if they applied it correctly.

i put yes we have bank of america we specifically asked for a mortgage company that does not sell on the secoundary market(we made the request when we combined our first and secound) we did not want to be sold back to wells fargo wich was our original mortgage company when we first bought our home the original mortgage deal was not legal and we did not find out until we went to refinance our first and get a 2nd for siding windows and a roof. we definately did not want to go back to the legal nightmare we came from.

Having gone through the same CU that we have our other accounts at has been a real advantage. We have our morgage payment on Auto pay but because they are the same bank they check make sure the money is there before making the withdrawl

I voted yes. We used a smaller bank that gave us a better rate than Wells Fargo (where we do most of our other banking).

I like mine. We refinanced in 2003 with Washington Mutual and have only had a good experience so far.

We had Countrywide before and they were "ok".

Wells Fargo has terrible customer service. Each person can only do 1 function. BIG bank syndrome. Every time I asked for something I was transferred to another person. I would spend hours on the phone to get something accomplished and then it wasn't done.

We switched to Citibank and they are doing a great job so far. The customer service is ok. No problems so far.
