wow this is like surreal for me.

31 days and no purchases from target. i went there 2 weeks ago to do returns but walked right out!

i did go to walmart today - got dipers, hair clips for my daughter and neon posterboard for my garage sale....thats it!

the most interesting thing for me and this new financial life is that its like a diet or rehab...at first its hard (hard not to find a reason to go and buy stuff) but now, since i've seemed to have gotten over the hump, i walked around walmart today and had no desire to get anything. im hell bent on using what i have. it was cool!

LOL! Congratulations!

I'm going to start my ticker now. I am off the wagon. I went three separate times on thursday. (didnt have the booster seat I went for, went to the other store, but they didnt have the seat protector that the first one did, so went back to other one).

I did manage to buy only $40 more than planned though.

Sounds as if that was a challemge for you in the past - so good job!

It does get easier the longer you go. I was last in target about 4 months ago and it was only to purchase one specific grocery item that is always cheaper their than at the grocery store.

Yes some of the stuff is cute, but most of it is just stuff and not needed.

Keep up the good work!

Wait a few more months...it will get to the point where you don't even want to go shopping for the stuff on your list that you actually need. You will have so many other things to do with your time that it will really be an annoyance to have to go shop.

Congratulations!

That is great Kelly!! I am about at the same point as you!!! Doesn't it feel great not to drop $100 bucks everytime you walk into a store!!
