money. I am so bummed out. It seems like everytime I get any extra money, there's always something that comes up that takes it right away. My DH & I both work full time & it seems like we still don't make enough money. I am going to start selling AVON again so I hope that generates some income, plus i'm going to clean houses on my day off (friday) to generate a little income. Please pray for me that I can figure this all out & not be so stresses.

I'm so sorry you are feeling this way, heck, I think we all do sometimes!! Just know you aren't alone here, we all feel financial struggle at one point or another in our lives!! Just be as strong as you can, and you will make it through...good luck with the avon and cleaning houses, at least you are willing to sacrifice a little home time to make your life more comfortable....you can do it!!! Keep us posted, I hope it works out for you!

before you start taking on two more jobs, im assuming that you know exactly where each penny is going at the moment?

i would hate for you to take on all this extra work when you had money to begin with. Yes we all have those emergency times where brakes need replacing, the washing machine dies or a birthday comes up - but please make sure that you have looked at your money/spending with a fine toothed comb before you just work harder and longer.....

i have done exactly that in the past 2 months - i just thought "we need more money" and i was really ignoring where my current money was going.

just a suggestion if you havent done so already. if you have an you are militant of where each dollar is going - and you still dont have enough - then it might be time to start thinking about the big things - job changes, moving to a smaller residence, stuff like that.

good luck!

Good idea CrazyKelly. I'm a big believer in this as well. It's amazing when you track your spending, right down to the nickle, and realize you do have the resources.

I have to agree, I have thought of taking on extra jobs but I figure I can save just as much by watching everything. This does mean looking and the details. Calling when ever you feel something doesn't look right. I am invited to too many Sales parties that I really just don't want to deal with them.

There are little things you can cut. Like buying individule sizes, exchanging birthday and aniversarry gifts with your guy. Not buying sodas, coffee etc. while out and about.

I could think of no better title:

Why, when there are family struggles, are women (moms) the ones who sacrifice first?

I have done this myself too many times to count. Carried two jobs, gone to school full time while working, running to the school everytime my dd shoves a little boy in his locker.

I am so frustrated with this. Not once did my husband offer to take on more hours at work or even a second or better paying job. While my focus was on Health insurance, his was on things I didn't think mattered like FOOTBALL!

I know not all men are like this, and my husband truly isn't really that bad. The reality is that I never opened the lines of communication rationally. (that's where you talk with out screaming and crying - tough lesson I had to learn)

Money is the biggest marriage killer ladies. Try sitting at the table with your income and debt in front of you. Each make a list of things you spent money on this week, then compare. He may feel awkward when every dime you spent this week was on him or his kids, and his expenses were carwashes and dinner or drinks with friends.

Oh wow, I am feeling blessed tonight. My hubby is working his butt off lately so we can get by. He works about 60-75 hours each week. I end up having to do EVERYTHING at home and with the kids, but he is working so hard I don't really mind that much. My hubby even takes the bus so we can save on gas money, since his employers agreed to buy him a bus pass, and we are going to sell our second car to cut our insurance premium (We have no car payment. It is paid for already.). We have gone through the kids outgrown things and took them in to Once Upon a Child. I sold my out-matured clothes We have NO junk food around unless it is baked goods or homemade popsicles. We odn't even buy sugared drinks. We don't eat out at all anymore. I am making breakfast, and we eat less cereal. We get our protein from eggs that way. We have cheese, lentils, peanut butter and yogurt. We do fine

i agree if you have not tracked your money do so its eye opening sometimes. i also would hate for you to take on 2 more jobs when maybe you just need a slight lifestyle change.. if you have done those things i want you to know i feel your pain. i thought finaly i was gonna be able to buy myself a winter coat(been getting by the last two years with a fall one) well ds decided to join scouts so there goes my money i saved for my coat but hey he is more important.. so i completely understand how you think you might have a little extra cash and it just slips away.

I really have tracked my spending, I only spend about $350/mo for a family of four for groceries, we hardly ever eat out. I do not spend any money daily unless I need something from the grocery store. We don't drink soda in our house. I have decluttered our house & there's really nothing left to declutter; we pretty much use everything we have. Right now I'm just praying to God to help me & give me financial relief. I really believe in the power of prayer. I don't know what else to do. I turn off all lights when not in a room; DH says we live in a mole hole I have been selling AVON for the past 10 years & it helps out, especially around the holidays. I had just taken a 2 month break from it this past sumer so I'd have more time to spend with my 2 DD. The house cleaning will just be on Fridays. I'd like to have one house each week, the money I make for that could help with a bill or something. I was just fishing for ideas I haven't tried. Please keep me in your prayers. ray:
