I have ALWAYS gotten a kick out of finding change on the ground, but it's come back to bite me a couple times!
Once DH and I were with some friends and DH was walking ahead of me talking with his buddy. I noticed a penny on the ground and stopped to pick it up. A couple more steps, and there was another one. And another one... I'm starting to wonder what's going on and look up to see that DH was dropping the change out of his pocket just to see if I would pick it up!
I did that while delivering mail, too. I was delivering in a not-so-great neighborhood where there is trash and bottle caps everywhere... but also a lot of pennies and such. So I would pick them up. One day I thought it was weird that there were a lot of pennies along my normal walking route that weren't there the day before, but I go and pick them up like usual... I get back to my mailtruck and there is a pile of them on the curb right beside the drivers' side door. Boy did I feel like an idiot. I didn't pick those up, didn't look around to see who was laughing at me, get in and drove away with a bright red face, and never picked up any more change in that neighborhood again!
