OK, my mom just called and said she watched EITHER Good morning America or the Today show this morning and they had a segmant on there that talked about the MILLIONS of savings bonds that are out there and haven't been "cashed in"...She said there was a site to go to so I could find mine. She didn't give me the correct site, and I'm wondering if any of you know where I need to go. There is one site that charges $18- but I don't think anyone should be charged for that should they? Or what? I know that my great grandmother bought bonds for me every year. She lost her home in a fire a long time ago and died about a week later, so we never found out anything- my mom said I should have about $400-600 in bonds!!! I want to get that money, and put it into accounts for my kids! How do I find out if I have them, what I have in them and how to get them?

I think I found the article for you. The web site to go to is below.

National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators

It was Good Morning America. Many people have gotten on there to comment about having to pay to get your money. If you do a search on your own. You can find money sites for free.

TreasuryDirect Have you looked at this site to see if they have any information on this topic. This is the site that sales them and I have used it to look up the current value of my bonds. Maybe they can help

Go to the Good Morning America site. I remember them saying they would post the info on their site.
