I don't see where you did anything wrong. Your ex still received what your son wanted to give him. You're just being a smart shopper and spending your money wisely. Why would you want to spend more on an item than you have to?

Well, you are much more kind that I am. I refuse to spend a dime on my ex-bum. As much as I teach my kids kindness, I draw the line at him. Besides, he has a g/f now, so she can buy him stuff.
