i know someone who bought a new super nintendo system (without warranty and not long after they came out) to replace the one he already had that his kids broke. And then he put the broken one into the new system box, and returned it for a full refund. Slick? Sick? You make the decision. LOL

Not a problem if they tell the clerk it is broken. Then the store gets a credit/refund on the product.

Lou, I am impressed. And no, you shouldn't feel bad about it.

Hey at least hes getting something from you, I didnt get my ex squat for his day.

But in your situation, I would have done the same thing. Thats not scamming - its just being smart about your money.

Don't be so hard on yourself. As you can see you are a great person for buying the ex a nice present and it shows you are very good about life and for setting a good example to your DS.

So you returned the game to save $. Life is hard and a savings is a savings. There are much worse things in life than you saving money. Big hugs to you and what a great example you set to your son about giving!

I would've done the exact same thing. Don't feel bad about it. Your son was able to give the gift.

Who cares! You got the better deal. He doesn't need to know what you spent on him.
