Just curious. I think read somewhere that the average household has seven. Are you above or below average? Include ALL forms of cc cards; including store credit cards too.

Yay!! I thought we have way too many, but we are below average. We have Lowe's, Sam's Club Discover, Mastercard and Visa. We are working to pay off all of them. 2 have very low balances, one is sort of medium and one is waaay too high. We are going with the paying off the low ones first and adding that amount to the high one.

I have seven, but three are gas cards and we don't use unless we are traveling, three are department stores I have not used in a year or two. The other one is one we use all the time and try and pay it off every month.

We don't have any credit card debt...we have an Amex and a MC and when we do use it, we pay it off in full each month. I have two store credit cards that again, if I use it, I pay it in full when the bill comes due. I guess we're 'below average'.

We have 2 cards, and they are starter cards with low limits. One has a 750 limit the other 200. We will not be getting more. We figure that having about a grand on cards "just in case" works for our family.

We have three. One has never been used, we have had it a few months. The other two have small balances and we pay in full each month. We don't really like credit cards and had never had them, but we are trying very hard to rebuild our credit so using them in small amounts and paying them off is really helping.

I have MC & Visa cards. I have 3 other cc and a Discover card but never activate them..

Just cut them up when they arrive in the mail. I've had them forever and don't want to close the accounts.

We have a Sam's club discover card, United visa card and a Delta American express card. DH has a "work expense" one but obviously we don't consider that as one of our cards. We buy EVERYTHING ($5.00 and up) on credit card. We LOVE to do it that way, because we get a detailed "family expence report" every month and we know EXACTLY where our money is going. We pay each one in FULL every month. We also like the frequent flier miles, bonus cash that we get from each card.

I should have read the entry before voting, I voted 5-7, but now should bump that up to 9. Wow, that sounds like way too many, but honestly, we don't use many of them regularly, and in fact, as of November first of this year, we will be debt free on all of these, so it's not a problem. We have:
Home Depot, regular card
Home Depot, mastercard
Lowes
Geico
3 chase visas
Express
Gap/Old Navy

The only ones that have balances are two of the chases and the regular home depot card....in one month from today we will have ZERO CREDIT CARD DEBT!!! Woohoo....
