A little over 300. Sometimes I do feel pressured to spend more, but the last time dh and I did that when ended up regretting it. Now we get nice gifts within our price range. I always keep telling myself it's the thought that counts. It would be nice if everyone else believed it.

I'm in the 1200-1500 range, but I include all gifts (including DH and mine if we buy that year) and all entertaining, groceries etc. We have 36 people on our list, some are bigger gifts than others.
I shop all year around as well so it helps spread out the expense.

We have 3 kids and usually spend around $300 a piece. It doesn't help that all of our bdays are clumped together my daughter's bday is Nov. 7th, my bday is the 12/28, my son's is the 23rd, my step-daughter's is the 29th, and my husband's is Jan 8th. Needless to say we're broke after the holidays. But this year my husband has been saving his loose change and the other night he told me xmas was all taken care of. And he's gonna let me have it the first of December so I can get started shopping. What a relief!!!!!!!!

We spend around $300 or less. We figured out when the kids were small they don't really care how many or what they get as gifts...especially if you start giving them less when they are small! I try to get them one thing they ask for and then a couple small things I think they will like. Also the $1 store works great for stockings! So I try to go $50 or less (sometimes WAY less). We don't even buy things for them as babies until they are 2 or even 3- they don't care one bit! Then for extended family we all agreed to draw names for the adults (brothers, sisters, parents) so each person picks one name and we all agree to spend $30 or less on the gift. Sometimes people still give out small gifts to everyone like ornaments, candy, or home made goodies or crafts. Then my husband and I either forgo gifts or we plan together on something we would like for the household: in the past we have purchased a digital camera, stereo system, new carpet, etc. Something that we don't "need" but something that we would really like. It really cuts down on the stress of figuring out what to buy and making time to get it, especially for my husband who is not gifted in the gift department.

Well, we spend a lot because we have about 25 people to buy for every year. I wish we could pare it down, but I already shop clearance year-round and limit adult siblings to 1-2 gifts. The biggest problem is my side of the family. We are very small, so we have always splurged on each other a lot! Every year we say that we won't do that, but then it happens anyway. I want to get everyone to honestly agree to just do one or two small, thoughtful gifts instead of several really nice gifts.
