I'm trying to find a good credit card with pretty good rewards. I currently have a Discover Motiva Card, because I did a balance transfer to that for 3.9% until 2010. Plus if you pay on time for 6 months you get 1 month of interest back.

However, I hear all the time poeple getting miles, gift cards and such and trying to find a good all around. I'm really trying HARD not to use them at all. But I just don't understand how everyone does well with rewards cards. I've been finding I just like using CASH except for Gas. I also have a BJ's Visa that give 2% back in Bj's money, but since Thom is almost out of diapers I won't be needing that card anymore. I'd like to stick to a MC, VISA or Discover Card. Anyone have a DISNEY?

Thanks again

ive never had any luck with reward cc's - and the two we have are just average.

the trick to them is to charge ALOT - my hubs business card is paid off every month because we get an exact reimbursement check - so the points add up quick since he's slapping 2-3k a month of expenses. so yeah there are free flights and hotel rooms.

our house cc'd is a different story. we use it for normal purchases and now its been 3 yrs and i now can get a $200 gift card. over three years of constant use? thats not good to me!

there are so many hoops to jump through - trying to use the points to get some free hotel rooms was torture- and to get my 200 gift card from the other one - took 16 weeks and so much phone calls and paperwork that it's not even worth it.

but thats just me - if there is someone out there who knows different, then im all ears.

Mine just automatically credits my account every December with a percentage of what I spent over the year. Couldn't be easier. I'm in Canada and our rewards programs don't seem to offer as high of a percentage. Mine is only 1% I think. In the US I would think you would be able to find a better one than that.

I have Disney Visa. AT FIRST, it doesn't sound like that great of a deal- but for us it is. We get $1 in Disney dollars for every $100 we spend (yeah, sucky!!!) BUT there is no annual fee, so that's why we don't get more. ALSO, with the Disney Visa you get great vacation deals and discounts on Disney vacations. A month before we leave for Disney we call and "cash out" our Disney Dollars and we get a gift card in the mail that we use while we're on vacation. It's nice, because it always ends up being $200-$300 to spend while we're on vacation. So, it doesn't seem like much at first, but when you get that gift card in the mail, it's nice! Also, with the DV we get discounts when we're at Disney.

We also have United Visa and we've gotten many frequent flier miles from using that. DH uses it for ALL work expenses and he buys plane tickets, hotels and food for his work trips- then his work re-imburses him the money and we get the miles. It's nice.

I used to use a credit card from Amazon.com - for every $2500 spent I would get a $25 gift certificate to use on Amazon.com.

I just started using a different card - for every $2500 spent I get a $50 Countrywide voucher to go towards the prinicpal on our mortgage or we can get $25 gift certificates to places like Olive Garden, Chili's, Red Lobster.

I use my card for everything, if it can be paid with a credit card I use it. Both have no annual fees.

We have a Discover Gas Card. It is just a regular Discover card that gets 5% back on gas purchases. It also gets 1-2% on everything else. I charge all gas, groceries, and bills on the card and then pay the card off every month. By charging my bills, the totals really add up. I get around $300 a year in rewards (cash or gift cards).

We have a Wells Fargo Bank Visa. We use it mainly for airline tickets. But they offer tons of rewards from gift cards to cash back to hotel stays and trips. I think there is an annual fee of about $20. We put everything on the Visa that we can and pay it off at the end of each month.

No hoops or paperwork to file when cashing out your rewards. I really like using it and have booked our annual trip to S. Dakota using Wellsfargo's travel department every year for about 3 years now. Just have to remember the 21 advance booking thing.

We have a GM card. No annual fee, and our purchases add up so that if we purchase a new GM vehicle we get a rebate. We've done this twice, and it has allowed us to purchase new vehicles for about the same price as a late-model used car.

I have a mypoints Visa card. I love mypoints, I love getting Gift cards for free. So for every $$ I spend on the card, I get a point. It gets credited to my mypoints acct at the endof the statement. With this I've been able to earn a ton of GCs that I plan to use for Christmas shopping.
