I use to have Chase for my mortgage until I refi'd and they seemed fine.
I currently have them for a credit card and have never seen anything go on that I question.
What is it that you have been hearing about what they do to their consumers? Just curious

Never mortgaged with them but can tell you about our credit card with them . . . we always sent our payments in at least a week before the due date. Yet somehow, Chase started crediting our payments the day AFTER it was due. The first time we called and they removed the late fee. The second time they did but with some argument. The third time they removed it only once we threatened to cancel the card and report them. Needless to say, we don't have that card anymore.

And let me say that the 2nd and 3rd time this was done, we sent the payments in more than a week before they were due just to make sure they got there in time. So it's our belief that Chase was holding the payments until they were late in order to charge the late fees.

We have our mortgage through them and we've been happy. We went through a rough time where our payments were very late, and eventually we just couldn't pay for a couple months. They were very helpful and worked with us to get us back on track. I was impressed with the way the handled our situation.

I have chase mtg and cc. I have never had a problem either way.

as for the cc, it states to mail in at least 14 days in advance so avoid late fees and xtra charges. You can also pay on line which is free and it is in that day.

I know nothing about Chase mortgage but I will never ever again recommend chase CC cards. I just got off the phone with them which turned into a yelling match. They assessed a fee that I didn't feel I deserved and they wouldn't remove it. Talked to supervisor and got same response over and over and over. I even threatened to never use that card again( I have plenty of other cards I can use). I didn't want to cancel because I've heard that could worsen my credit score. still no budge. Terrible customer service!! Needless to say I just shredded that card - their loss as I was a great customer.Just wish I didn't have to pay that undeserved fee -

We had them as a mortgage co and they did not pay our property tax that was in escrow for 2 years ! We did not even know until we got a letter from the county wanting to start forclosure preceedings!!!!! They took the money out of our escrow and sent us the letters stating they paid the taxes but never actually paid them. They were going to charge US the late fees for non payment After I proved it was THEIR problem they kindly waived the fees for us "this time". We then re-fied with our local bank and have not had another problem.
