Hubby uses cash, and the bank account is in my name only.

I have an account for household spending and personal purchases that my husband put money into. He never looks at the the details online so I always use that account for purchases for him.

Having little money years ago led us to not buying gifts (rarely, at least) for each other and honestly, I don't miss it. Spending time together is so much better than any gift. When we do buy presents, I'm the one that pays the bills so it's easy for me. For DH, he gets a weekly cash allowance and will normally use that or get cash out of the bank to buy with.
