I'm not recommended this to anyone because it is hard but it is a work from home position. If you are the right person with the right circumstances and in the right point in your life, you can make very good money with private foster care. You also need the right contacts. You can work for a place and make OK money or you can go out on your own and do very well.

Very rewarding work but also very demanding. We have the possibility of going back into it, if we want, but not right now. That said, I'm also not giving up our license in case we ever want to return to it.

I'd like to try the idea of being a gift wrapper. That would be some nice extra money for the holidays. Do any of you ladies do that & how much do you charge?

I have done several work at home jobs. I do daycare currently. I have done that for 7 years. I also have had a few other jobs. One where I was on the phone calling companies doing customer satifaction surveys and now I work for another company on the computer. I can work when ever I want to. It is very nice. I found the job on Monster.com. Not all work at home jobs require you to pay a fee. The ones I have found do not.
I also have done Tupperware. I loved getting out of the house and talking to people. I also made a ton of money doing it.

I am currently working from home for a company. It is a legitimate company and I am there full time.

Edited by mod as thread clearly states no specifics

I work for three different employers, and two don't require me to go into an office at all. One does, a few hours per week. I do database maintenance, editing, writing, internet researching, and a bit of transcription.

I love working from home! There are perks, like being able to stay home with a sick child, having a freshly brewed pot of coffee to myself , getting laundry done at the same time, and wearing super-comfy clothes, to name a few.

The biggest challenge for me is managing my time/week very carefully so that I meet all my deadlines. There is always some household chore that needs to be done, but I have to ignore it and get my "for-pay" stuff done first! Once in a while, I also have to keep the dd's quiet when I have an important phone call, which isn't always easy. Generally though, I get everything completed before I pick them up from school, or after they're in bed.

I've also sold on eBay, but that's more for fun than for funds.

I'm sorry but I have to comment on this. I am, and have been for several years now, a licensed foster parent. My husband and I opened up our home for less fortunate children. IT IS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY! We think the money you get is to be used on the children, not to put money in your pocket. They don't pay very well anyway...it cost as much as they pay to provide necessities for the children. I AM TOTALLY AGAINST DOING FOSTER CARE FOR MONEY!! I'm sorry to vent about this but I feel very strongly that it's not about the money - it's about the children.

Has anyone ever heard of a licensed teacher working with/for homeschooling parents as a supplement to their teaching? I am hoping to become a stay-at-home mom and am brainstorming what I can do at home to supplement our income. Our goal at home is to become debt free in one year...aside from the house payment of course! Any ideas, thoughts?
