I know how you feel about being declined in line. It is embarassing...but everyone goes through it at least once in their life. Ours has been declined many times because DH would make more than 2 small online purchases in a day. That's how tight our CC's company's security is. I would be at the grocery store trying to buy stuff and DH would be at home on the computer buying songs from itunes and it would decline me at the grocery store even though there is nothing wrong with our credit and we weren't above our spending limit. So don't worry about being embarassed by it.

I agree with the others...ask your friend to pay the bill. Being that she is in a tight financial situation she shouldn't have made such long and expensive phone calls knowing that you are also in a tight financial situation. I always leave money for my host if I know that I made long distance phone calls on their lines.

Sandra

P.S. Praying that everything with your pregnancy and delivery goes safely and that everyone goes home healthy.

Hi, I'm an army wife too and I want to remind you that you don't have to do the packing, cleaning, etc. especially if you will have just given birth!! The military can pack and move your things and if you live on post you can have a cleaning team clean your quarters (yes, you do have to pay, but if you've just given birth it will be worth it!!!). If you live off post in an apartment or house invite all your friends over for a cleaning party and serve lunch and ask everyone to bring cleaning supplies and arrive early in the morining and by lunchtime the house should be close to being done. I know I would come to help a friend in need, especially if she had small kids or a baby!

We are just moving to another base which is 45 mins away and we still got some stuff in the pantry mainly can foods, clothes, little stuff that I don't want the packers to pack. Especially our glasses thats in the china cabinet. We are packing that ourselves. We live in Germany and we don't have that cleaning team over here. We have to pay if we want our house clean since we live on post. We dont have that many friends over here since majority of them already PCS back to the states. We probably have 3 friends out here and all of them work. There are some people that I can ask but I'll doubt it they'll see yes since they got their own schedule. I hate to admit it but over here everybody is for themselves. I hate to say it but there's no "team" in our housing area. Its like you clean your own mess.
We only have three people living in our building and probably 50 in our whole housing area right now. I know stinks but I guess we will make it somehow.
