Ours is 34% which is still acceptable but we are doing good about controlling the other expenses in the house.

Ours was 14% which was only described as "relatively low". That surprised me. What is considered "very low" or even "low"? Maybe 0%?

Ours was a bit high. But what was interesting is that I've been stressing about credit cards, wanting to pay them off. Yet, when I recalculate without the cc debt, we're still in a danger area. I like to recalculate to see where we are, as I'm trying to work all the debt and which to pay down first.

Ours was in the "acceptable" range, but I would like to lower that.

Did anyone find their range to be incorrect? I mean I understand the percentage but we only have a mortgage and small student loans and it says we are in danger. We save every month and don't have any bad debt so I don't view myself in danger.

Maybe your mortgage is HUGE compared to your income (our mortgage only takes up about 12% of our income)?? I also wonder which percentages fall into what categories...

debt ratio of 29%.
You have a relatively low debt ratio that puts you in good stead to make all of your payments.

I want it Lower!!!

Yep. That was what I was talking about. We only have a mortgage and it is VERY low compared to our income, but we were still only "relatively low". I would call us "very low".

It is just a perception thing, I guess.

Ours was 28%. I think it will go up in a year when I have to start making student loan payments. Not too bad, I don't think, We are 27 and 26 and own a home and our only debt is house payment, van payment, and student loans.
