Is you debt in the danger range? MSNMoney has a Debt Evaluator tool that will tell you. It's very cool! Debt evaluation calculator, debt evaluator, debt ratio - MSN Money

Did your result surprise you?

Our total debt ratio is 31%. That includes our cars, our home, and a travel trailer. It doesn't surprise me, as I just did all this math the other day, but it is eye opening, because, even though I knew it, I still think it's too much debt! Ours also says we have an acceptable debt ratio should we continue paying as we do.

It said we should consider lowering our ratio, but it's not in danger zone.

It says that we have an acceptable debt ratio. It doesn't feel acceptable. I would still like to lower it.

A bit high but still manageable -- no surprise there!

Mine was 30% -- just more incentive to keep whittling it down to nothing!

Ours is not too bad...28%. It is manageable, but I would prefer to be less than 20%.

Sirens are wailing, lights are flashing, and the electronic voice is saying "Structural failure is imminent" !!!

Still no surprise, though... ugh.
