3Lynns,

Could you PM me? I’d like to try to help you out with a little something. I need to know the easiest way to get it to you. I’m so sorry you are going through such a bad time.

Lots of love to you,
Debbie

PS – I will try to check my messages a few times today. I want to help a bit.

Can you contact your county's trustee. Around here every county has one and they have $$$ that can be used for people in need but there is a limit as to how many times they will help the same people.

Possible option?

I think a really good course of action is to determine how you are going to get yourself out of this predicament.... Go cash only, send dh to do the shopping, find out what need you are trying to fill with "things".....

Thank you ladies for being so supportive and helpful. I really makes me see what great ladies we have on here.

Jared&Maggie'smom- you have a really good point about carrying cash. We already do that with the exception of my debit card. I have considered having dh do the shopping but he is never home because he works so much. It is just easier for me to walk the block to the store and pick up what we need. The whole thing about "things" is what I still cannot figure out. It is not like i grew up poor we were comfortable. My parents knew how to keep us a float and happy. That is why they have bailed me out and refused to this time. So what "things" am I looking for. I don't know.

Thanks again ladies. You really do mean a lot to me.

That is just it, it isn't about "things"...there is some void in your life that you are trying to fill with the "things" - whether it is feeling "important", feeling loved etc etc. It's like overeaters who use food to feel comforted - you get your "buzz" off of buying. Figuring out what it is and filling the void with the appropriate thing is the key....

Sorry, can you tell I was a therapist before my kids were born?

Wow you are probably right. I think I might know what it is but I know that I cannot change it.

Sad news is that my check didn't come in the mail today and this is going to be a problem that goes into next week instead of clearing up this week. Ugh

I have been right where you are! Not with the whole bank issue, but with all the shut offs, it sucks! I you go to church, that is a place I have gone for financial help in dire need. The priest has a discresionary fund they can do with what they want not to mention the help the congregation can be. I know it feels bad to ask, but it could make a difference. People want to help, sometimes they just don't know how.

So sorry you are going through this. But for the grace of God we may be close on your heels!!
