Does DH (or you) pull overtime at work? Do you depend on overtime shifts to meet expenses? Is it even available?

DH doesn't even have it available, even though he's not salaried at all. The store he works at has such limited available hours to begin with (per company regulation) that it isn't even an option. I remember working at the nursing home there were plenty of opportunities for grabbing up some overtime and earning a little extra if you needed it. My girlfriend's DH has the opportunity and takes it often, bringing in some nice extra $ for them.

My dh is salary, so no overtime pay for him even if he does have to put in extra hours Way back when we were both hrly we really could bring in some good money. Too bad at the time we wasted so much of it.

my dh works overtime everyday of his work week and sometimes 8 hours on saturday. overtime is almost always mandatory and a couple months a year is voluntary wich he does it. plus the good thing at his job is anything over 8 hours in a day is time and a half plus all saturday is time and a half and sundays(maybe happen 2 times a year) are double time. august is usually the only month out of the year that he does not have overtime and it is for 2 weeks. it has been this way for 10 years they are just always busy at work since they got rid of the swing shift and 3rd shift its cheaper for the co to pay overtime then to have the two extra shifts and pay for benefits(wich his work pays for almost all of). we don't count on it but it does really help out we know there is gonna be a dry spell every year so we are prepared for that.

My dh is salaried, but he gets overtime. He's working on alot of projects so he's been getting alot of overtime lately, which is nice before the holidays, but we would never depend upon it.

DH's overtime is the only reason he stays there. He gets 10 hrs a week sometimes more. He had an awesome job offer for a little more money per hour but no overtime so he had to turn it down. We figured it out and although if we tightened our belts we could afford it,we would have cut out too many things (like remodeling our house) that he decided he would stay even though he cannot stand his boss or the owner of the company. Now he is going for his class A CDL and will try driving to see if he likes it and maybe then he can go somewhere else. He is getting kinda tired of turning wrenches.

DH is salaried so no overtime for him. I have a really good contract at work a 4 day work week and 7.5 hour day. Overtime is paid at double time. Right now I have 16 days in overtime banked. I have the option of being paid out or taking it in paid time off. I am opting for the paid time off. I try to take an extra day off every few weeks.

I can work as much overtime as I want. I do and I usually save it as comp time. We don't get paid maternity leave at work, but we can save up 12 weeks of vacations, comp, and sick leave. I would rather have 3 months off of work paid, so I save up all of my time. I don't plan on getting pregnant for another year but I want it all saved up so that when I do, it is there and I can work for cash. We can only save up 22 (12 hour) days of comp and then the rest we have to cash out. I think I have 10 days saved so far, so after 12 more I can cash out. We get paid 18 hours of overtime for every holiday plus another 8 hours for having it as a day off. Overtime is amazing!

I don't work too much of it though. I know you must think I am crazy, but I am just too busy with my kids! I feel like when I am off I need to be there for them.
