I kinda do both. I definitely give money to the Canadian Cancer Society each year, but I also give my time to other things: military support programs; troops overseas; church community outreach.

I heard someone say recently that as much as people love the financial support for charities, a bigger obstacle is having people committed to helping the cause with their time. Charities cannot be run solely on money!

Can you think of a charity that YOU can contribute your time to?

I give money. I have given time in the past but not any more. Between my job & my commute I just don't have enough time for normal stuff.

I give money, goods and time. I started a mom's volunteer service organization this past summer (NOVA MOMS CARE) and we do quarterly projects with our kids. It's going great and alot of fun! My kids and I go to a retirement community once a week also. Right now we have a Christmas Crafts Party at the retirement home and we have adopted a military family-the dad just got back from Iraq. Nothing makes me happier than knowing I've made a difference!

I've given money to a few charities in the past. But I'd really like to be able to give time or money to the March of Dimes.I'm currently checking into that.

I am a nonpaid board member for A Butterfly's Touch, and I "work" anywhere from 5-20 hours per week. During the weeks leading up to our major fundraiser it is more like 40+/week. Sometimes I wish I was paid (we could use the $), but knowing that we are helping families in their time of need is payment enough.

Dh has money taken out of his check for the United Way. During the holidays I give the girls change to put in the Salvation Army bell ringers containers.

We tithe to our church and give to our school. Time and money to both organizations.

Time, goods, money in that order I think. That is just what I do. dh would do money, time. I guess I am in change of getting the goods to the correct place. I volunteer with about 6 different organizations. However, I am on several committees at school and church. My kids also volunteer time, goods(their toys),and money(yes their own that they raise having lemonade stands).

I mainly donate money but I used to volunteer my time.

I want to do that when the kids are a little older and in daycare/school.
