I forgot to mention, I do not know if you have a mortgage, but make sure that this is the one bill you do not fall behind on. DH and I are trying to refinance to get our of an adjustable rate and they asked us if we have ever skipped or were late on a payment, which fortunately, we never have been. However, we bought our house when the market was high and now our home is not worth as much. We are considering relocating to another state in a few years bc the COL is so high in MA.

Unfortunately, we have CC debt bc this was our answer to a "quick fix" when we needed money.

I agree with all of the replys. My husband gets paid weekly also. Some of our bill take a big chunck out of budget all at once. What we do is divide that bill into four, what ever that amount is that is what we pay every week. For instance our gas/electric bill is $235 we divide that by 4 which is $58.75. Every week for four weeks we send $58.75 to our gas/electric provider via online banking.

This make that bill alittle more manageable.

As an easy start, I would suggest using a calendar. As soon as the bills come in, write the company and amount due on the date due. Then you can see in advance what is to be paid and when. It will work better than a piece of paper and you'll get a clear snapshot month after month. I use the month-at-a-glance knockoff calendar book, got it from target for $1.
