Girls, I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I do save all bags and tissue, and I saved some of his power ranger wrapping paper to wrap one of the shoe boxes that he uses for a power ranger house. I figured some used wrapping paper would spruce up the place a bit.

I reuse bows, too.

Your not cheap at all.
1. Your saving future money.
2. Your saving our landfill sites.
3. Your following a philosophy of making sure every thing you have has more than one purpose.

Bring it on sister! Your doin' it!

Hey, thanks!!! The landfill thing is a good one. That will be on my list from now on when MIL gives me grief.

I also agree that you are being creative and not cheap. I also reuse tablecloths for art projects and I always save gift bags, tissue paper and bows. Ocassionaly I will save wrapping paper but we use it for art projects and not to wrap another gift.

I must be "resourceful" too because I see absolutely nothing wrong with anything you listed and have done most of it at one time or another

okay I dont use toys to decorate becuase I dont even want toys but other wise your ideas are great. Being cheap is doning things like not eating when your hungry becuase you dont have a cuopon.

*I save the crepe paper to make pompons for decorations for the next party. I hang them on the mailbox, front door, or the lamp post outside.

*I hang movie cases on the walls to help decorate.

*I wipe and save the plastice tablecloth for dropcloths for art or to use for a special lunch/dinner for the kids if they've had a good month at school.

*I use the kids toys as table centerpieces and accent decor around the room.

Does anyone else do this or am I incredibly ridiculous?

PS....if you have any other ideas, let me know.

you're not cheap... and I took notes

Thanks for sharing these wonderfully frugal ideas. I am expecting my first grand in January and I am taking all the notes I can to help

I think I've hit the all time low for cheap.
I am a demo for a major stamp company, although it's mostly to feed my habit than create an income.
In the boxes that the product comes is a lot of brown craft like paper that they use for fillers. I've always wondered what could be done with this.
Today I ripped about some of the sections, spritzed it with water and hung to dry. Now I have a large piece of "scrap" paper that my DS can colour and draw on when he gets older.
Some might say "like I have time to rip apart paper, spritz with water and hang to dry". Yup, isn't something I would want to do everyday but at least it didn't end up in the land fill, and now I have free scribble paper (or at least to protect my kitchen table) for a future Picaso!
