There was a bunch of change on the kitchen counter and I had a ton in my purse, so I got a sports bottle, took the lid off and put it on my dresser. I have a great start on filling it up already. I told dh to put his loose change in there every night too. I am excited to see how quickly we will fill it up and how much there will be in there when it is full

What are you going to buy with it when it's full? I just use the self checkouts at walmart and put my loose change in there to pay for my items(If no one is waiting behind me).

I have no idea. It will probably go to savings or something.

Good for you! Use it for something special. We use ours for a night away during tax season. You'll be surprised how quickly it adds up!

I not only have a change jar, I have a "singles" jar for my one dollar bills. Whenever I pay for something and I get change, I put the dollar bills in the jar. I love saving that way!

I do this too. When I get daring, I make a $5's can(old baby formula can) and I do not touch that for a month or two. This is the heating oil money that I prepay for so we get the discount. This year I am glad we did because we paid $2.67 a gallon and it is now over $3.10 a gallon.

Our best month so far, we saved $173 in ones and about $50 in change.

We have a change bucket (an old OxyClean bucket) that sits on the floor, next to Brian's dresser. He doesn't use change for anything, so everyday, he adds to it. I rolled some of it in October, and had over $100 just in quarters!! I have a small piggy bank that sits on our dryer, that any loose change I find in the laundry, goes in there. I also save my singles (1's), and since mid-October, have saved over $50!! It's been awesome!! I plan on deposting the singles in our checking account, and 1/2 of the spare change as well, in January, to help pay off my one credit card, and possibly the propane bill as well! The bucket is now about 3/4 of the way full, so there should be quite a chunk of change to deposit, I hope. The other 1/2 of the change will go into savings.

Just wanted to say Congrats to Happymom for starting one. And it will make you so happy when you count it all in a few months.
