We used our cc for everything but that's only because we get cash back on our purchases. The bill will be paid off when received with money that we have saved all year for Christmas. It's a wonderful feeling knowing we'll not have debt afterwards!

While I do use my credit card to make most purchses, I pay the amount online within the next day or so--not to say I don't have past cc debt that I am working on paying off, I've just come to treat my credit card now as a debit card and stay within my budgeted limits.

I'm trying not to use are CC for Christmas, since they have high balances already. I've decided that we are going to cut back this year. My DH says my kids get to much for Christmas anyways. When I was growing up it was always a big deal at my house and every year I got lots of gifts. His child hood was different. I always spoiled my kids every year till this one. I took a look into my DD closet and found stuff that she never opened from the past several years. Some stuff she has even out growed. So this year will be different. No added debt from Christmas from me.

No debt, but no Christmas shopping here...DH got notice last week he will be "laid off" as of this Friday for three weeks. It's not a real layoff, but a "stop-work" where he will be on call if a storm comes through (he's a treetrimmer for a large power company).

Either way, that means no income for three weeks, therefore, we are not doing presents or anything. Whenever anyone asks, we request baby stuff (still don't have baby room close to done!!!!!)or gift cards to WalMart or Meijer for food. Today I'm making a menu for the next month, try to see how little we can get by on. Happy Holidays eh?

I did use credit for some purchases, but those are scheduled to be paid during December. What will hurt us are the car repairs on the card (our EF is gone).

I can sympathize with you on that. We had to pay our property taxes on 11/1.

we are doing good!! I have tried to get things here and there! We will have to put a few things on CC but it will not go over 200$ so I think that will be managble!! (and that is for 4 or 5 peoples gifts) the only reason we might have to use the CC for that is cause we had to get gutters on our house this year! as we found a leak in our absement cause of not having gutters so I think it all pays off!!

Cash christmas here - it's always been that way. We haven't and won't do any credit cards.

No credit card debt, although I DO use my CC's for everything that I possibly can (for the cash back). Our budget is working great; we save monthly so we already have the money in our "Christmas" s/a to pay for everything Christmas (presents, tree, etc.). I always charge everything and pay off the CC bill when it comes.
