I got a suprise $536 on Tuesday from the job I quit in July. It was a shareholder's check. We went to walmart and majorly stocked up on groceries, I got the boys some pajamas and new shirts, and added a few things to their Christmas list, bought some jeans for dh, and birthday presents for Jamie's birthday next month--as of last night, it was all gone. I'm pathetic sometimes.

Seriously, I thought we were doing fine this past week. We sold our car to a salvage yard for $200 (it smoked reaalllly bad lol) and were saving it for a work car (down to one vehicle) and this week dh and I were gonna do some xmas shopping. Well, the mortgage is due and we have 3 bills that come out automatically (thank God cause they wouldn't get paid) and groceries to buy til angel food distribution next week.. AAAAAHH! Dh is gonna be so pissed, but you gotta pay bills first right? I'm thinking we'll finish up the kids gifts and stockings and wait for his bonus check (fingers crossed).

We just had a week where we had to replace our washer/dryer and repair ductwork, so yes, I know how fast it can fly out of your hands! Even when you don't have a "bad" week with nothing out of the ordinary the regular cost of living will get to you.

ok this may be somewhat off topic so please forgive me. But I kinda think this country is slowly headed into another depression. I mean the prices of EVERYTHING keep rising and yet our pays don't rise to match. The economy has already been in reccesion, now it's in depression. This scares me!! Sorry if you like Pes. Bush (cover your eyes) but before he came in office we had a surplus in the nation debt. The economy was the best it has ever been. We need rid of him!!!! Ok I will step off my soap box now... LOL
So to answer the original question, "have I noticed?" YES. YES. YES. How can you not? If your not rich your struggeling.

Yup - I hear ya. Add that to someone stealing our credit card number (not our credit card - just our credit card number) and charging about $1000. Oh, and add to that - this card is attached to our checking account. Oh, and add to that, it was from another country so it will take extra long to correct the probelm.

Every day, over draft fees add up so even when we get paid - we are negative. Until they prove I was not overseas charging this - we are negative. It will all be fixed but for now we can only get cash out at ONE bank and we don't work near this bank.

Oh and I haven't started Christmas shopping yet.

I HATE MONEY!

(sorry for the vent)

No idea! I wanted to quit using any cards and just do cash/checks but was reminded the check has your signature, address, bank numbers, etc. Wouldn't have been so scary if it had just been a credit card that was not attached to our accounts!
