I was thinking along the lines of him just removing his name from the card - I don't think that can be done- right?

I don't really understand it though - If They were trying to help him establish credit , shouldn't He have gotten a Card that they co- signed for , yet never Use?




My Mom Cosigned for my First Visa when I was 18 so I could establish credit . I had a Credit limit of only like 1200.00 !

I would get his name off. It shouldn't be a problem getting his name off. I was on my mother's for years and when I got married she took my name off no problems (and she had debt on it).

I'm not sure how it works - if the MIL says it's her debt and asks to get his name off the card I'm sure they wouldn't care... it's not like they're wiping away the debt. But if they do care, then the only way would be to get a new card!

Either way, hopefully the MIL will do it!
