I save all the cottage cheese/margarine/sour cream/ricotta containers and when I have a big party, I make ice in them for the kegs! I also put a big chunk of ice in the dogs bowl in the morning if I leave for the day.

I use coupons whenever possible. If I am done with a drink that has ice cubes that I would throw in the sink, I use them to water my plants.

Walgreens has a rebate program. Just pick up a booklet at any walgreens and it outlines all the rebates available for that month. The rebates vary from $1 on up on a variety of items. And they also have a few items where you can receive a full rebate on. For example, this months "freebies" are (one item of each) sunsilk product (4.99), herbal essence styling product (3.99) and a cura heating packs (3.99). Just save your receipts and follow the instructions and mail it all at the end of the month. And if you have them put your rebate onto a walgreen's gift care, you can get an extra 10%.

There is some work involved, but if you can combine your purchases with coupons and then you've got the rebate on top of that, then you can catch some really good deals.

My DH tried to do that when our bag was full and I needed to vaccuum, then he tore it, then we duct taped it lol and put it back in. Now that is cheap. But We recently invested in this new Eureka vaccuum they have it's only $60, it's bagless and it's rated in the top 10 vaccuums along with 5 dyson models. It's awesome and since our other vaccuum is an oreck and the bags are so darn expensive we are saying lots of money right there.

I always save the straws from places like Mc Donald's for home.

I use plastic bags from stores for poopy diapers, trash etc. I even use the big one's in my kitchen trash barrel.

Good to know about reusing the swimmy diapers. I have 2 year old twins, so we can go through alot of them at times!

One of my friends laughed out loud at me when I mentioned I had a gift closet. Anything I can pick up for almost nothing throughout the year goes in with all the gift bags given to my family. It absolutely helps with expected gifts.

Two of my favorite places for stuff for the closet are old navy and kohls. Kohl's had 80% off racks the other day and with knowing 3 people who are pregnant (1 with twins) I managed to buy enough infant clothing for all for under $40.
