I love Dave Ramsey. If it wwere my money, i would take a little to enjoy ($25 or so) and the rest would go on my debt snowball. The little bits will add up quicker than you think.

We are totally into the TMMO!! For us, one of the things we had to stop doing was eating out! So, we would treat ourselves to a nice sit down restaurant (Chilis, On The Border, etc), and apply the rest directly to debt!! good luck!!

I am reading The Total Money Makeover and love it, so far. I have read other financial books, but I'm more excited about this one.

My question to you is, did you have to convince your dh to jump on board? I think my dh is in denial. I said that for my Christmas gift, I wanted him to let me read the book aloud to him and have him just listen. He agreed, but we're not through the first chapter yet (I'm almost done reading the whole thing myself). For Christmas, he gave me $200 cash to spend on myself. I was just shocked . . . incredulous. He really just does not seem to "get it". Yes, we have the money, but we also have cc debt that I want to be rid of so bad I can't see straight! I want to put the $200 on a cc bill, but he got mad/hurt when I mentioned it.

Sigh. Please advise. Sometimes I feel like I'm in this alone, and that I'll never change the way he thinks. How do I get dh excited about attaining financial freedom and security for us and our children??
