I got good news today at work!! In the new year I will go from being a time card employee to a contract employee. Time card employees have a 2 week lag time in their pay. Contract employees are paid up to the day. So on my next paycheck I will be paid to catch up, so with my 2 pay periods and holiday pay, I will get more than twice my usual pay. WooHooo!!! I know the money is mine and I would have eventually gotten it anyway, but like this, it seems almost like a bonus. Also, it could not come at a better time. With all the birthdays and Christmas this month, we are broke!!!
