I agree, I'm FAR more frugal than my parents. My parents had little money but they still went WAY over board all the time, essp my dad. When he passed away in 1994 at the age of 40, very suddenly, he left my mom with HUGE amounts of CC debt. She has struggled for years and has finnally gotten herself cleaned up of most of his mess. BUT she still likes to shop and shops regularly!

A funny story about someone I work with. She is a tiny woman who doesn't eat much and its just her and her dh. But she grew up on a farm and he grew up during the depression. She ALWAYS had steak to eat growing up because she lived on a farm. Her dh never ate steak because money was always tight. Now that they have 'made it' (In thier 70's LOL) They eat STEAK on a regular basis. Her dh insists on it because he never had it growing up. She will eat it, but its nothing she must have. LOL
