I do this every year and it's been great! We had enough $$ saved to buy a Wii in August when demand was low and supply was high. I set it up through Emmigrant, an online bank. You can go to Compare mortgage rates, home loans, CD rates, auto loans, credit cards, mortgages and more to find a high yield savings account. ING is really popular too.

My bank used to have a XMAS account and i LOVED IT!! I wouldn't even feel the little bit that they were deducting from checking to go to my Xmas acct. and i didn't have to think about it. In november, i would receive a nice check. Those were the good old days, bec. they no longer offer it. Now, i have a reg. sav. acct, but since i know that it's not a "christmas acct" i keep withdrawing from it... I think im gonna try kim's idea, cuz that way i don't see the money, but i know it's there!
