I never heard of Dave Ramsey until I joined mommysavers. So many people are raving about his books. What book do you suggest I get first? My dh and I are trying to pay down our debt and start saving. We need as much help as we can get.

The Total Money Makeover.....I think if you go to daveramsey.com, he's still doing a sale on those books, for $10 each.
Totally worth the read and you probably will have a huge awakening....get it and get started, you'll enjoy it! Good luck!

Try your local library also. Our library has some of Dave Ramsey's books, Suze Orman's books and some other financial guides as well.

Thanks

I got my Total Money Makeover in the mail today! I think a good $10.00 investment espically if it convinces my dh to be on board! Now we are in no way currently hurting but I DO think we could be doing better!

I agree the TMMO is the place to start! I have read a couple of his books and I also have my DVR set to record him every night at 8 PM on the FOX business channel 359 (I think that's right)!! Totally life changing!

Last night he was talking about a young couple from Cleveland, Ohio. 28 years old and they paid 150k for their home in CASH!! They lived in a garage apartment for 4 years and socked away 50k a year and lived on 30k a year while doing this. Can you imagine? They are set for life....... no house payments ever!

Man, my husband and I did not have kids until we were 30 and 32. If we could do things differently...........

we have really gotten serious in the last 6 months. We have one more little debt (about 1000) to take care of, and then we are going to make double/triple payments on my car! We are getting a late start, but we have our act together now!!!

Thanks. I'm going to see if I can find the FOX business channel and watch it tonight. Congrats for paying down all but one bill. Hopefully in the next 6 months my dh and I will have accomplished by off two credit card bills.

Thank you! I didn't know he had a show on TV. Thru my cable company (Time Warner) I searched for his show by title, and it comes up on channel 223 FBN (Fox Bus. Network) Thank you thank you thank you!!
