We won't be debt free, but plan on knocking a good chunk of it down. Just trying to decide which medical bill comes first.

We won't be completely debt free, but we are sure working on it! I figure any progress is better than no progress.

I want to be debt free i have car loan and student loan.
1 cc w/$450 balance.
I can pay off the cc, car is $7000 i can pay that within this year.
but the student loan will take longer...i also don't want to pay all off and have no savings...
some money still has to go to my savings, being a single mom and not having that 2nd income is hard, specially here in california, the rents for a 2 bed apt. are at least $1500 month!!!! that's a lot!!!

i hate bills.. so this should be a motivation.

We will try very hard to be debt free in 2008 except our house. I would love to pay off our 2 vehicles and the home equity loan this year, but that would mean paying off $53K in debt. That may be overly optimistic, but I would definitly like to pay it down a lot.

Our goal is to be credit card debt free in 2008! We have already paid more than 1/2 in 2007 plus created our emergency fund, so this upcoming year will be wiping out the rest of the cc debt

Congratulations to those of you who will be debt free in '08. My dh and I sat down and figured it out and it will take us almost two years for cars and cc but hopefully sooner now that I have a part-time job. We are planing on opening a cd and have some more in the saving account.

My goal is to be mostly debt free. I doubt we can pay off everything but I'm shooting for everything but the truck payment and the student loans. That is a doable goal, I think but I'm at least going to make some progress one way or another.

We are paying off our credit card & car loan. We need to finish a few renovation projects before we can add principal payments to our mortgage.

Our goal is to get 100% debt free in 08. We're moving to the suburbs (renting an apartment) on February 1st which is much bigger than our place now so we need some major furniture (kitchen table and chairs, couch, coffee table etc) , and after that we're starting Dave Ramsey. After we build our EF, pay down the last of our debt and set up our FFEF, we're hoping to start saving for down payment on a house

Our debt to knock out this year includes...

$1500 left on my car
$3000 in old medical bills
$750 left on credit cards

My side goal is to get my credit score back up above 700...I spent myself silly before we got married and let my credit go into the toilet. The worst part is that what I spent all that money on wasn't even tangible - I have absoutely nothing to show for it now! I really want to prove to myself (and future mortgage lenders...) that I'm financially responsible.
