You know, when my daughter was born we paid the entire delievery which was about $12,000 and the hospital was fine. It was never an issue and we made monthly payments. That was four years ago. With my son, (born 6 months ago) our insurance paid most of it but we still owed the hospital about $1200.00 and they have been a nightmare this time around. It took about 4 months alone to get them to bill my insurance for my son. And it is the same hospital. I'm not sure if it is their billing department or what. But something has changed.

I have 3 that were reported on mine. 2 of them, I was already paying on and I guess they didnt care so they turned me over to a collection agency. All 3 of the drug my score down nearly 100 points and it just keeps going on and on even though I am paying on them. It made me mad they did it even though I was making ligit payments. I only have 1 more payment on one, 4 on another and I dont know on the 3rd one without looking.

my credit score has always been perfect. it just chaps my hide that they want to send me to a collection agency. the hospital ought to run my credit history and decide that I PAY MY BILLS!!!@!! Also, this hospital almost killed me with their inadequate car. Ticked me off to say the least. They tried to tell me i wasn't going into labor and that i just had the flu. they tried to give me amodium ad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you know what that does to a preggy who is fixing to have a c section??? You wont go poop for a month!!!!!!!!!!!!! I through the pill in the trash and refused to take it. When the dr. came in and said, yep we're having a baby, I just glared at the stupid nurse, like SEE I TOLD YOU SO> so it is ticking me off to actually pay them money for their sorry care. (it gets worse) I could probably get the money to pay them but i'm having a hard time, when they wont bend with their payment plan for nothing even though their care was crappy!!!!

contact the hospital for papers to get financial assistance you would be surprised you may be able to wipe out alot of that and they will then accept your payments... also it depends on if they are a public or private hospital how they choose to deal with people paying...

Thats so funny that they didn't believe you! Something similar happend to my friend, she was in labor and two different ERs told her that she had an STD causing the cramping and sent her home. Well needless to say she did not and when she got to the 3rd hospital she was 9 cm! HA
