If you are with State Farm, they are providing TurboTax online for free for their customers this year again.

Also, last year someone posted on the TurboTax site that you could call the Inuit 1-800 number and ask for a promotion code and they would give you one that let you use it for free. It sounded incredible, but I tried it--and they did! Ours would have been $130 or so otherwise--we did the full Home & Business, plus state taxes, which are extra.

So I don't know if that will work again this year, but a phone call doesn't hurt.

I have used turbotax for several years and I really love it. We have a business and the home and business version has everything we need. The basic version can be gotten for $20, but this version is cheaper on amazon.com (check out jjwiley for a seller -fantastic customer service) and I saved $40.(normally cost about $80)

I use to go to hrblock.com to file my taxes, but last year I used Turbo tax because we had a coupon code for the online version. I loved it!!

I used to use Turbo Tax but I found it a bit clumsy. Tax Act is free through the irs.gov website. I used that for the last two years and found it better. It is completely free through the website. I can't imagine paying for tax preparation software.

Wow - I have state farm too - guess I'll be using it too!

And I'll be passing on the tip about calling Intuit too - especially since I used to work there - I'm gonna have to ask my friends still there about that one!

THANKS!!!

I can't take credit: It was another Mommysaver who let me know! I have been with State Farm for years, too, and never realized. I can't remember what Mommysaver mentioned it, it was somewhere in another thread.
