i had a securtiy company come and install a small safe in the wall of my kids bathroom!
its behind a picture of a duck taking a bath. after watching all the episodes of "it takes a theif" on tlc, i learned that the kids room/bathrooms are not the hot spots.

and just a side note from someone who's family home (growing up) was robbed 2x
the kitchen is a hot spot for burgulars.

I was just talking to my electric company the other day and the secretary mentioned that since they are a co-op that when we die our shares can be passed onto a family member. She said that she has hers declared in her will whom will get them. May sound trivial but its still something and I was not aware of this. Just thought I would pass it on in case this applies to anybody else. Since everyone was talking about important documents.

One more thing from my experience with bank security- If you are going to use small safes in which valuables are in (which is smart), please secure them to the floor in some way. It is not unusual for a thief to simply take a safe and open it in the comfort of their own home. I have known thiefs to actually take ATMs.
