One of our goals for 2008 is to create our will and assign a guardian for our dd in case something happens to me and my dh. Does anyone have any recommendations on software? I am looking into doing it ourselves rather than hire a lawyer. Does anyone have an opinion on that? I kinda thought it would save us money to do it ourselves, but I want to do the right thing especially when it comes to our dd's security.

TIA
Kristia

My dh and I just bought Quicken Willmaker. We haven't "done" it yet, altho dh has looked thru it and he was impressed with how much it covers. We are definitely not experts in this field at all. But dh feels good about it (I haven't really looked at it yet...)

I have a book on order at the library for my state and the requirements for making a will. You might want to make sure what ever you are using it will hold up if challenged and to check for that you will need to check with your state.

You are making a great decision!!

I've used Quicken Willmaker. It worked fine for us.

If you have Quicken 2005, they are offering Willmaker Plus free to anyone who upgrades to Quicken 2008 (cost of $40 to upgrade).

I used WillMaker Pro. Very easy to use. It walks you through everything step by step.
