I was thinking of putting our vac. money away in an acct. where we couldn't easily access it til our vac. in august. We are using some of our tax refund for this. I looked into cds but a 3 mo. would only make $8 and a 6 mo. one would not mature in time for our vac. if we start it in Feb. I was thinking of a money market acct., but I don't know much about them and if its a lot of work. What does everyone else do?

We have a money market account. Right now the Paypal money market pays close to 5%.

There is a an ing.com savings account that still gets pretty good interest rates that you wouldn't need to have your money tied up too long if you needed it sooner. You can have it directly deposited from your account/paycheck into the account so you never get your hands on it. Then, just wait till vacation time to pull out the money.

I have an ING savings account that I really like. You could get to your money if you needed it in an emergency and its paying 4% interest right now.
