How did you learn about investing? Did someone teach you? Are you self taught? Do you have any tips for those just now learning about investments?

Self-taught. CNN Money regularly has articles teaching people how to get started. And they all amount to the same advice--unless you really know a whole lot, go with index funds.

YES! Read all you can, the library is a great place to get investment books.

Also, be sure you understand what you are investing in. Don't be afraid to ask questions and don't stop asking until you fully understand where your money is going.

These two books are what got me started. They explain well, clearly, in enough detail but still in a simple, understandable and funny way.
