Ok some of you have been asking me for help in setting up sales and coupons-- well this is an easy one -- no coupons required.
Our cub foods in Springfield IL(owned by neiman food group) has a deal going where you buy 15 cans of Del Monte veggies at 0.39 a can. (totals $5.85) the computer will deduct $5.00 off your total instantly for a total of $0.86 (tax is included on food here). So it is 0.06 a can when all is said and done.
Now this is limited to 1 per order so I recommend doing 6 orders per visit. We went last night and came home with 330 cans. About a years supply for us. Also check out the Del Monte website for a rebate promo they have going to make this even sweeter. Buy 3 different Del Monte items totaling 18 (ie 16 veggies, 1 fruit, and 1 tomato) and get a $10.00 rebate. Yep you guessed it we bought the fruit last night that is on sale for $0.89 a can and a Tomato product that was $0.79 a can and plan on doing 3 rebates. So look at these figures.
324 Cans Veggies: 18.57
3 cans fruit: 2.67
3 Cans Tomatos: 2.37
_______________________
23.62 out of pocket (330 cans)
- 30.00 (3 rebates -- you will need different address for each of these)

Profit of $6.38 + 330 can goods :D
Sorry I used round numbers here but you get the idea. Sometimes stockpiling does make sense when deals like this come along. Although my pantry looks kind of funny with these being added to the 90 jars of PB from a few weeks ago. Oh well.
