Anyone know any products you can use in your steam cleaner to help get pet and people stains out?? I hate having a dirty looking carpet and the militay puts such nice cheap carpet down!!

"OUST" pet stain remover has directions on the back for using in a steam cleaner. Also, here's a few other suggestions (shorter than copying them all over here)
HOMEMADE CARPET CLEANING SOLUTIONS I know Simple Green is an excellent product, and works very well to clean a lot of surfaces around the house. That's probably what I'll use, as it's one of the only cleaners out there that my MIL isn't allergic to (and it's her steam cleaner). I need to do this myself; with a toddler and a puppy, it needs a good heavy cleaning.

We swear by Woolite pet stain carpet cleaner. It's not made for steam cleaners though. But, it's gotten out every single stain we have ever had in our carpet, by baby, dog or cat. We have a very light beige carpet and it's been a wonderful product. We even kept buying it inbetween having pets to use just on kid stains.

I have an area rug in my LR, and it looks terrible. I can't roll it up and put it in my washer, its too big. It covers my hardwood floors. Any suggestions on how to clean that?? It looks HORRIBLE!!

A product I fell in love with is Spot Shot or something like that. It lifts out stains but is a spray on remover.

I use Spot Shot, too. Something I did do a year ago..which I would NEVER recommend. Like a dork, I put bleach in my setam cleaner!!! I had berber carpet, so they can be bleached. Well, they can be in small amounts. In big amounts....it will make you sick as a dog and have to sleep at the nieghbor's house overnight!!!! NO JOKE!!!!

I have put mine in the back of my Dh truck and brought it to the car wash. I stray it out with the soap and then rinse with the high preasure hose. It worked great. I did it twice a year for about 5 years an the rug held up well.

I love spot shot. Sometimes you don't even have to rub the spot out, it just dissappears on its own. :D
