Besides the boys' banks, I have a jar (with a cute label I made that says "Mom's Tip Jar") for spare change in the kitchen and we have a can for change in our bedroom.

It's funny you brought this up because I have been "worrying" a little more about money and wanted to start a stash somewhere else without anyone knowing...maybe in my craft room or something.

I've always kept at least $500 in 20's in the firebox, those bills are so old (been there about 10+ years), they are the little $20 face's on them, and starting to yellow. I gues sI should trade out eventually, but I never, never, never even THINK about touching that money. That's our money for like, evergency hurricane evacuation or world ending. Nothing short of that would get me to use it. Most of the time I forget I ahve it. I also have $100 always hidden in a spot in my wallet, have not used it though, for maybe... 15 years? But I have it, just in case.

Yes, we have a cash reserve on hand, just in case. Plus, I keep between $100-150 "hidden" in my wallet, because you just never know when you might need it. We also have the kids piggy banks, and the spare change bucket, but those would only be a last resort type thing.

Okay... I've been keeping up with this thread and coming back to read your responses.
I used to do this before i got married and had kids, but for some reason once "life" happened (marriage, kids, etc.) I stopped. Im really going to start doing it again... !! I do have my boys' piggu bank... and our "coin jar" but that doesnt count to me...
Thanks for bringing this up and reminding me of it!!
